Sand Plowed into Dune Barriers
Seaside, NJ: 9/28/2015: Town plows in Seaside and along the New Jersey are building sand dunes. The dunes are piles of sand used to stop or slow water from heading towards structures. The strips of sand dunes are 10-15 feet high and continue from one end of town to the other.
On Long Beach Island, beach entrances cut into the Island long barrier to accommodate summer beachcombers are being sealed. Sealing all beach paths will lesson the possibility of water flooding the streets and homes.
