Seaside Strong – Seaside Park, NJ: The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness and the US Department of Homeland Security, in partnership with the Seaside Park Police and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office hosted a Hometown Security Initiative 7.10.2017 at the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad.

With the upcoming anniversary of the bombing that took place before the Semper Five Marine Corps Charity 5K, NJOHSP, in collaboration with the US Department of Homeland Security, the Seaside Park Police Department, and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, hosted a Hometown Security Initiative seminar in Seaside Park.
The event was attended by more than 100 community members, and provided an opportunity for federal, state, and local representatives to discuss the current threat environment, offer protective security measures, and highlight the importance of reporting suspicious activity. The role of the public in maintaining the state’s security cannot be understated, which was seen after tips from New Jersey residents led to the Seaside Park bomber’s arrest.
The Hometown Security Initiative is designed to support local communities across the state by increasing resilience, readiness, and their overall security posture.
